On March 1, the Senate approved H463 which provided tax-cuts for Idaho citizens and prevented tax increases caused by the changes to the tax code at the federal level. The bill will now be sent to Governor Otter for his signature. After the passage of the bill Rep. Greg Chaney, who co-sponsored the legislation, said:
I’m excited to see Idahoans get a tax cut. Legislation is never perfect, and I understand the criticisms of the bill. However, doing nothing would have resulted in a tax increase for Idaho families and that would have been absolutely unacceptable to me. This represents broad-based tax relief that will benefit Idaho families and help continue to fuel our best-in-the-nation economic growth.
